|
The VICS (Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Solutions) organization has successfully merged with GS1 US and the Apparel and General Merchandise Initiative. What does that mean to you?
GS1 US would like to reassure it's members: |
 |
- Existing VICS Committees will be incorporated within the new GS1 US structure and all existing guidelines will continue to be supported therein.
- The VICS legacy of collaboration will be upheld through the GS1 US Apparel and General Merchandise Initiative.
- The GS1 US Apparel and General Merchandise Initiative was created as a single "clearinghouse" for the development of standards, guidelines, and best practices that can be Incorporated into business processes.
- Moving forward, there will be a renewed sense of commitment from the integrated organization in order to drive efficiency, change, and standardization from source-to-store in the retail supply chain.

VICS' vision for the future is a world in which products move through the Global Supply Chain, seamlessly and efficiently, maximizing value for manufacturers, retailers and suppliers. To achieve this, we engage communities of interest to sit in open, safe forums to develop standard business guidelines based on real-world needs and processes.
